Role SummaryThe Senior Accountant (Ops & Finance) is a hybrid role bridging finance and operations. This position ensures revenue accuracy, payroll compliance, and incentive compensation integrity while supporting daily/weekly/monthly reconciliations. The Senior Accountant serves as a process builder and accountability partner, working closely with People Ops, Operations Managers, and Finance leadership.
This role is ideal for a Staff Accountant or Supervisor-level candidate ready to step into a Senior Accountant title, with strong technical skills, excellent communication, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multi-entity environment.
Key Responsibilities Revenue & Accounts Receivable- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliations (banks, AR, Salesforce vs. Open Dental).
- Manage in-house financing records; ensure follow-up by Guides/OMs (audit, not collections).
- Spot discrepancies early and hold teams accountable to closing them.
- Partner with People Ops to review pay codes, overtime, and meal premiums.
- Manage payroll tax setup and collaborate with HR in compliance with new states.
- Review payroll inputs for accuracy; elevate issues before final processing.
- Calculate and validate doctor pay, guide bonuses, and co-managed care payments
. - Ensure bonus and comp calculations tie to source data and are approved before processing.
- Deliver accurate, timely outputs that build trust with providers and staff.
- Review and approve/reject employee reimbursements (travel, mileage, expenses).
- Spot-audit travel and expense requests for compliance with policy.
- Partner with Office Managers and Sales Leaders to ensure accountability for expense management.
- Build and refine scalable accounting processes (Salesforce, Rippling, Open Dental integrations).
- Audit data flows between Ops and Finance to prevent month-end rework.
- Document SOPs for recurring financial tasks and train Ops partners on compliance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 3–5 years of accounting experience (Staff Accountant, Supervisor, or equivalent).
- Strong understanding of GAAP and revenue recognition.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel; comfortable with reconciliations and incentive comp calculations.
- Prior experience in multi-entity organizations or dental/healthcare finance (preferred).
- Excellent communication skills; ability to interact with operations leaders, sales teams, and providers.
- California payroll experience required and Multi-state payroll experience strongly preferred.
- Analytical mindset with attention to detail.
- Resourceful and solution-oriented; able to troubleshoot broken processes.
- Comfortable in both “big picture” financial strategy and hands‑on daily accounting tasks.
- Able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a dynamic environment.
