A typical day in the life of a Governmental Advisory Services Manager may include the following:
- Oversee advisory engagements and special studies related to government and public agency financial, operational and industry issues.
- Apply knowledge and understanding of government industry standards and best practices related to finance and accounting in order to implement and adhere to agency policies, procedures and financial reporting requirements.
- Manage a team performing routine assessments of processes, procedures, internal controls and transactions in order to provide recommendations for improvements deemed required by the results of external inspections.
- Introduce efficiencies to applications in practice, or the understanding and usability of results to enhance the business decisions making process.
- Ensure cyclical accounting and financial reporting objectives of the client are met including routine balance account reconciliations, monthly and quarterly journal entries, month end and year end closing duties, budget to actual analysis, and routine financial reporting.
- Utilize Microsoft Excel advanced concepts to analyze large amounts of accounting data.
- Provide coaching and support to Associate and Senior Associate level staff through delegation and supervision of engagement tasks, hands‑on training with assigned tasks, review of work performed, and knowledge sharing of technical standards and industry best practices.
- Establish and maintain effective client relationships in regards to advisory matters as well as coordinating the delivery services.
- You have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field,
- 5+ years of experience in the government industry including supervisory experience
- A valid Certified Public Accountant license (preferred).
- You have advanced knowledge of the government industry, public agency business processes and accounting principles.
- You take a creative approach when applying analytical and critical thinking skills to develop solutions to complex problems.
- You are skilled in networking and developing business.
- You have strong verbal and written communications skills and effective presentation skills.
- You are a multi-tasking master, and there has never been a deadline you could not meet.
- You are able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and clients.
- You enjoy coaching and mentoring Associate and Senior Associate level staff.

Benefits and CompensationOur compensation philosophy emphasizes competitive and equitable pay. Eide Bailly complies with all local/state regulations regarding displaying salary ranges. Final compensation decisions are dependent upon factors such as geography, experience, education, skills.
Salary Range: $120,000 - $160,000
