Avid Bioservices is looking for a Senior Research Associate, Process Analytics to join our onsite team in Tustin, CA. This is an opportunity to work across cell line development, upstream/downstream process development, formulation, process characterization, and non-GMP studies while serving as a technical resource for analytical methods and instrumentation.
What You'll Do- Independently perform and coordinate routine and non-routine analytical studies.
- Serve as a technical resource/method owner for platforms such as HPLC/UPLC, CE-SDS, icIEF, plate-based assays, residual DNA/qPCR, pH, osmolality, and SDS-PAGE
. - Troubleshoot complex instrument, method, system suitability, and data integrity issues.
- Lead comparability studies, special studies, and method transfers
. - Review analytical data and documentation generated by other laboratory team members.
- Support implementation and optimization of new analytical technologies and high-throughput workflows
. - Provide technical mentorship and training to Research Associates and laboratory personnel.
- Represent Process Analytics in cross-functional project meetings and communicate technical recommendations to stakeholders.
- Bachelor's degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical Sciences
, or a related field. - 3+ years of relevant hands‑on experience in process development, QC, biologics characterization, or a related analytical laboratory.
- Strong experience with analytical biochemistry, chromatography, electrophoresis, protein characterization, or biologics testing
. - Demonstrated ability to independently troubleshoot analytical methods/instruments and review technical data.
- Maurice, Compass, ELISA, or qPCR
- Method transfer and comparability studies
- Experience implementing new analytical technologies
- Technical training, mentorship, or data review experience
