Partnership Manager, Business Development

Zymo Research is looking for a dynamic individual to join our Commercialization Team! Zymo Research is seeking Partnership Managers, Business Development to drive commercial growth through high-impact partnerships across academic, biotech, clinical, and government markets. This is a customer-facing, commercial role focused on value-based engagement, opportunity creation, and long-term partnership execution.

Unlike technical scientific roles, this position emphasizes commercial strategy, relationship management, and deal execution. Partnership Managers work closely with Scientific Collaboration Managers, Sales, Product, and Operations teams to originate new business, expand existing accounts, and translate customer needs into scalable commercial outcomes.

• Identify, qualify, and advance new commercial and partnership opportunities.
• Manage and grow existing customer and partner relationships.
• Drive run-rate revenue through upsell, cross-sell, and workflow expansion.
• Build and present business cases, proposals, and commercial agreements.
• Coordinate internal resources to support deal execution and customer success.
• Maintain accurate CRM documentation, forecasting, and pipeline reporting.

• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or MBA preferred depending on level.
• Experience in business development, partnerships, or account management.
• Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Comfort operating cross-functionally in a matrixed organization.
• Willingness to travel commensurate with role scope.
