Healthcare Talent Support is a nationwide healthcare recruitment company. We are actively seeking an Emergency Medicine Physician for a long term opportunity in Twenty nine Palms, CA.

Status: W2 or 1099

Schedule:

  • 12-hour shifts, between the hours 6am - 6:30pm and 6:00pm - 6:30am, which shall include an uncompensated 30 minute meal break.
  • Single physician coverage with 2 RNs, 1 corpsman

Summary:

Are you passionate about providing immediate medical care to patients in emergency situations? As an integral member of this facility, you will be responsible for providing high-quality emergency medical care to patients presenting with acute illnesses or injuries, with state-of-the-art medical equipment and a supportive team.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a level of productivity comparable with that of other individuals performing similar services.
  • Participate in peer review and performance improvement activities.
  • Practice aseptic techniques as necessary and comply with infection control guidelines.
  • Function with an awareness and application of safety procedures.
  • Perform efficiently in emergency patient situations, following established protocols, remaining calm, informing appropriate persons, and documenting events.
  • Anticipate potential problems/emergencies and make appropriate interventions.
  • Notify supervisor, director, or other designated person regarding problems that the HCW is unable to manage.
  • Apply an awareness of legal issues in all aspects of patient care.
  • Participate in the implementation of the Family Advocacy Program.
  • Exercise awareness and sensitivity to patient/significant others' rights.
  • Maintain an awareness of responsibility and accountability for your own professional practice.
  • Attend and comply with all annual training classes required by the Command.
  • Actively participate in the commands Performance Improvement Program.
  • Participate in the provision of in-service training to clinical staff members.
  • Attend and participate in various meetings as directed.
  • Perform timely, accurate, and concise documentation of patient care.
  • Operate and manipulate automated systems and maintain DOD email account as directed.
  • Exercise appropriate delegation of tasks and duties in the direction and coordination of health care team members.
  • Maintain documentation of all treatment provided in accordance with clinic directives.
  • About the facility:

    • Our 22-bed hospital facility offers an array of services, including Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, General Surgery, Orthopedic Surgery, Anesthesia, OB/GYN, and Psychiatry.
    • Radiology services, such as X-rays, CT imaging, and ultrasonography, are available 24/7.
    • Specialty services are affiliated with NMRTC San Diego and available for phone consultation 24/7.
    • In-house Laboratory and Pharmacy accessible around the clock.
    • Our 9-bed Emergency Department is your stage for critical care, with no Fast-track.
    • Handling 9,000-9,200 annual patient encounters and an average daily census of 25 patients per day.
    • 12-hour, single-coverage staffing schedule ensures exceptional care.
    • Low acuity cases predominating, with most chief complaints triaged as ESI 4 or 5.

    Requirements:

    • Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited medical school
    • Board certification in Emergency Medicine
    • Valid state medical license and DEA registration
    • Completion of an accredited residency program in Emergency Medicine
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to handle high-pressure situations and make time-sensitive decisions
    • Proficient in using electronic health record (EHR) systems
