Business Support Manager This role is based in our Hampton office (Middlesex) and will involve occasional travel throughout the Thames Water Framework region.We're looking for a highly organised Business Support Manager to provide comprehensive administrative and operational support across the Thames Water business. This varied role combines senior stakeholder support, office and facilities management, business reporting, and people-focused activities, helping to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of our projects and workplace.
You’ll play an important role in supporting the Senior Leadership Team, coordinating business activities, managing office operations, and helping create a positive and productive working environment.
What you’ll be doing :Leadership and Business Support
- Provide administrative and coordination support to the Senior Leadership Team.
- Attend and support Senior Leadership Team meetings, including managing actions and follow‑up activities.
- Support the Operations Director with diary management, travel and accommodation arrangements.
- Prepare and coordinate business documents, including reports, presentations, meeting minutes, and correspondence.
- Support the collection and reporting of KPI data, including managing client feedback processes.
- Coordinate and support business events, such as Stand-Down Days, roadshows, business reviews, and team engagement activities.
- Support employee wellbeing initiatives and health-focused activities.
- Coordinate onboarding and induction activities for new team members.
- Work closely with Training Coordinators to maintain training records and manage renewal requirements.
- Promote and champion Galliford Try’s EPIC values through everyday activities and interactions.
- Manage the day-to-day operation of the Hampton office and support project locations as required.
- Coordinate office facilities, business continuity arrangements, fire procedures, and building maintenance activities.
- Manage office supplies, IT equipment, access passes, visitor arrangements, and related administrative processes.
- Support internal and external audits, ensuring records remain accurate and up to date.
- Strong administrative experience within a busy office, project, or operational environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications and experience using electronic filing or document management systems, such as Viewpoint.
- The ability to manage and prioritise a varied workload while meeting deadlines.
- A proactive and adaptable approach, with strong attention to detail.
- Experience building positive working relationships across teams and with stakeholders at all levels.
- The confidence to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
- A professional and customer‑focused approach, with the ability to handle sensitive information discreetly.
- Experience supporting multiple sites or working within a fast‑paced operational environment (desirable).
- An understanding of health, safety, and compliance responsibilities, and a commitment to following company policies and procedures.
