Senior Lecturer in Physiology
You are invited to apply for the Senior Lecturer in Physiology role at St Mary’s University, Twickenham.
About the roleJoin the founding academic team at St Mary’s School of Medicine and help shape the curriculum and identity of our new MBBS programme. You will lead teaching in physiology, immunology, or microbiology within the Integrated and Applied Science and Clinical Medicine (IASCM) module, design and deliver lectures, practicals, and small group sessions, and contribute to assessment and curriculum development across the MBBS programme.
Keyresponsibilities
- Design and deliver higher education teaching in physiology, including lectures, practicals, and integrated small group sessions.
- Contribute to assessment design and curriculum development for the MBBS programme.
- Collaboratively work with multidisciplinary teams to support student learning and development.
- Champion a strategic leadership role within SSCs, Digital Health & AI, or Academic Tutoring.
- Fellowship of Advance HE (HEA) or equivalent, or willingness to work towards it.
- Relevant teaching qualification or willingness to work towards PGCHE.
- Postgraduate qualification or equivalent in a relevant subject.
- Proven experience in designing and delivering physiology teaching in higher education.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students.
- Commitment to professional development, including willingness to undertake training in teaching and assessment.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and contribute to curriculum development.
Contract
:
Permanent, 0.8–1.0 FTE
Salary
: £48,822 – £56,535 (Band J) pro‑rata for part‑time contract

Annual leave
: 35 days, pro‑rata for part‑time contract
