Contract: Permanent, 0.8‑1.0 FTE
Salary: £48,822 – £56,535 (Band J), pro‑rata for part‑time contract
Join the founding academic team at St Mary’s School of Medicine and play a key role in shaping the curriculum and identity of our new MBBS programme. We are seeking a Senior Lecturer with expertise in public health, social sciences, or medical humanities to lead our Medicine and Society (Med Soc) module. You will oversee teaching in areas such as health inequalities, ethics, law, and digital medicine, and support interdisciplinary learning across the MBBS programme.
This is a unique opportunity to shape the social and ethical heart of a new medical school, influence curriculum design, and contribute to a values‑driven vision of medical education. The successful candidate will also be considered for one of our strategic leadership roles: SSCs, Digital Health & AI, or Academic Tutoring.
Qualifications- Fellowship of Advance HE (HEA) or equivalent or willingness to work towards.
- Relevant teaching qualification or willingness to work towards PGCHE.
- Postgraduate qualification or equivalent in a relevant subject.
- Proven experience in designing and delivering medical education.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students.
- Commitment to professional development, including willingness to undertake training in teaching and assessment.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and contribute to curriculum development.
