Special Needs Teaching Assistants - Twickenham

A growing SEN school in Twickenham is expanding its team and offering an excellent opportunity for individuals who want to build a long‑term career in SEND education. The school supports pupils aged 7‑16 with Autism (ASD) and Social, Emotional & Mental Health (SEMH) needs. As the school grows, it is looking for committed Special Needs Teaching Assistants who want to develop professionally and become part of a stable, permanent team.

Responsibilities
  • Supporting pupils with ASD and SEMH needs in small classes of 4‑6.
  • Providing tailored support based on strengths and experience.
  • Assisting with learning activities, emotional regulation, and social development.
  • Working closely with teachers, therapists, and wider support staff.
  • Supporting with personal care when required (full training provided).
Desired Skills & Experience
  • Experience in SEND or strong transferable skills from care, youth work, psychology, sports coaching, or similar fields.
  • Patient, resilient, and compassionate approach.
  • Full‑time availability preferred (part‑time considered).
  • A desire to build long‑term relationships and grow into a permanent role.
  • A calm, structured environment with well‑established routines.
  • Behaviour that is not highly challenging.
