SEN Teaching Assistant – Richmond

Are you a passionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant looking to make a real difference in the lives of children and young people with additional needs?

We are recruiting on behalf of a specialist SEN School in Richmond that supports children and young people aged 5–16 years with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and additional needs including ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) and SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs).

This rewarding opportunity is available on both a temporary and permanent basis, offering flexibility for experienced SEN professionals and those looking to build a long-term career within special education.

The Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

* Support pupils aged 5–16 with ASC, ADHD, SEMH, and additional learning needs.

* Provide 1:1 support and small group interventions.

* Assist teachers in delivering engaging and differentiated lessons.

* Support students with communication, social interaction, emotional regulation, and independence skills.

* Help implement EHCP targets and individual learning plans.

* Encourage positive behaviour and engagement in learning.

* Work collaboratively with teaching staff, therapists, and families.

* Promote safeguarding, wellbeing, and inclusion at all times.

SEN Teaching Assistant Requirements

* Experience supporting children or young people with ASC, ADHD, SEMH, or Special Educational Needs.

* Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

* The ability to work effectively as part of a team.

* A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.

* Relevant qualifications are desirable but not essential.
