SEN Teaching Assistant - Richmond

Location:

Richmond, Greater London

Temporary Rate: £95-£120 per day (depending on experience)

Permanent Salary: £22,000-£28,000 per annum (depending on experience)

The Role
  • Support pupils aged 5‑16 with ASC, ADHD, SEMH, and additional learning needs.
  • Provide 1:1 support and small group interventions.
  • Assist teachers in delivering engaging and differentiated lessons.
  • Support students with communication, social interaction, emotional regulation, and independence skills.
  • Help implement EHCP targets and individual learning plans.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and engagement in learning.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff, therapists, and families.
  • Promote safeguarding, wellbeing, and inclusion at all times.
SEN Teaching Assistant Requirements
  • Experience as a SEN Teaching Assistant
  • Learning Support Assistant (LSA)
  • Teaching Assistant
  • Autism Support Worker
  • Behaviour Support Assistant
  • Special Needs Teaching Assistant
  • Youth Worker
  • Care Worker
  • Support Worker
  • Experience supporting children or young people with ASC, ADHD, SEMH, or Special Educational Needs.
  • A patient, resilient, and nurturing approach.
  • Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
  • Relevant qualifications are desirable but not essential.
