KS2 Teaching Assistant – Full‑time Position, September Start

Salary: £90‑100 per day, dependent on experience

We are delighted to announce an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and dedicated KS2 Teaching Assistant to join a well‑established two‑form entry Church of England Primary School in Twickenham. This role is ideal for a professional who is passionate about supporting children’s learning and development within a nurturing, values‑led school community.

• Work closely with class teachers to support pupils’ learning, confidence and progress across Key Stage 2.
• Provide individual and group support to help children access the curriculum, build independence and stay engaged in lessons.
• Assist in planning, preparation and resource management to ensure lessons run smoothly and effectively.
• Support pupils during assessment sessions as required.
• Accompany pupils on educational visits and contribute to enrichment activities.
• Use ICT and other resources to enhance pupils’ learning experiences.
• Collaborate with teachers, colleagues and external professionals to ensure consistent and effective support for pupils.
• Follow school policies and procedures, including safeguarding, health and safety, behaviour management and child protection.

• Support pupils individually or in small groups to access the curriculum and achieve their learning goals.
• Promote independence, confidence and engagement across KS2.
• Assist teachers in maintaining a positive and safe learning environment and managing behaviour effectively.
• Prepare classrooms and resources for lessons, supporting smooth delivery and engagement.
• Observe pupil performance and share progress and concerns with class teachers.
• Support pupils during assessment sessions as required.

• Experience supporting children in a primary school setting is desirable.
• Understanding of strategies to support pupils’ learning and social development.
• Patient, enthusiastic and committed to promoting inclusion and wellbeing.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with pupils, teachers, parents and colleagues.
• Ability to follow guidance, take initiative and contribute to planning and lesson preparation.
• Reliable, professional and committed to safeguarding children and young people.
