IT Teacher (with SEN Experience)
Location: Darlington, County Durham
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
Contract: Full-time Permanent (Part-time applications may be considered)
We are seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated, and inspirational IT Teacher to join our specialist school in Darlington
. This is an exciting opportunity to make a genuine difference in the lives of young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN), teaching Information Technology and Computing up to Key Stage 5.
Our school provides a supportive, inclusive environment where every student is encouraged to achieve their full potential. We are looking for someone who is passionate about education, understands the diverse needs of learners with SEN, and is committed to delivering engaging, high-quality lessons.
The RoleYou will:
- Teach IT and Computing to students from Key Stage 3 through to Key Stage 5.
- Plan and deliver creative, differentiated lessons that meet a range of learning needs.
- Support students with a variety of Special Educational Needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN), and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
- Monitor, assess and report on student progress.
- Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, families and the wider school team to ensure the best outcomes for every learner.
- Contribute to the wider life of the school and promote a positive learning environment.
The successful candidate will have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- Experience teaching IT/Computing up to Key Stage 5.
- Experience working with students with Special Educational Needs.
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
- The ability to inspire, motivate and engage learners with diverse needs.
