Are you a merchandiser or do you work in retail and are looking for the next step in your career? Do you have a passion for managing people?

We're looking for a Merchandising Team Leader based in your area. You will be an integral part of a field‑based retail merchandising team, working in a range of high‑street retailers on behalf of exciting household name brands. We work across a variety of categories including:
Books and Entertainment, Fashion, Grocery, Health and Beauty, Beers, Wines and Spirits, and Toys.

About the role

Working Hours:

A minimum of 30 hours per week, with 18 hours for team supervisory tasks and 12 hours for client merchandising.

Rate:
Team supervisory tasks at £13.70 per hour and merchandising tasks at £14.25 per hour.

Ideal recruitment area:
The ideal candidate would cover a range of stores in the TW and KT postcode area (Ashford Feltham) so a driver is a must!

Key details

The contract would be 30 hours worked over Monday - Friday and occasional weekend when required to cover missed work or inductions, however this would be down to manager discretion.

  • 1/3rd of the hours will be based around managing colleagues, compliance and F2F coaching of your team of around 35-40 merchandisers.
  • 2/3rd of the hours will be based around client activities (calls) delivering 99%+ coverage for your district.

An ideal candidate would have supervisory experience and have worked in the retail sector.

How you'll deliver excellence Team Leadership
  • You will oversee day‑to‑day activity in your district, making sure all work is completed on time and to the standards agreed with our clients.
  • You will manage and arrange merchandiser schedules for your district.
  • You will support recruitment and onboarding for your district.
  • You will train, support, and guide merchandisers so they're confident and capable in their roles.
  • You will give regular feedback by celebrating great work and addressing any performance concerns early.
  • You will be the main point of contact for your district and share timely updates through our feedback tools.
Compliance & Standards
  • You will make sure everyone follows the correct processes, standards, and safety guidelines.
  • You will ensure plans and schedules are accurate, realistic, and aligned with wider regional priorities.
  • You will maintain strong admin standards and accurate data in all systems.
Merchandising
  • You will ensure all merchandising and in‑store activity is completed correctly, following briefs and planograms where provided.
  • You will ensure displays, products, and POS materials are set up properly and look great for customers.
  • On occasion, you will need to accept point of sale to your home address and take to store for implementation.
Other Duties
  • You will build positive relationships with store managers, in‑store teams, and internal support teams.
  • You will support new initiatives and help your team adapt to new ways of working.
  • You will look for opportunities to improve processes, execution quality, and the overall colleague experience.

  • Proven ability to lead, motivate, and coach field‑based colleagues.
  • Clear and confident communicator, able to engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong relationship‑building skills with internal and external partners.
  • Previous retail, merchandising, or customer service experience.
  • Confident using mobile and desktop systems for scheduling, reporting, and communication.
  • Full driving license and access to a vehicle.
