Assistant Sales & Design Manager

Job Type: Full Time

Job Base: Office Based

Job Salary: £32,000 (OTE £38,000)

At Green Retreats, we create exceptional garden rooms that transform the way people live and work. As one of the UK’s leading manufacturers of luxury garden buildings, we’re proud to deliver not only beautifully crafted spaces, but an experience that reflects the quality and reputation of our brand. Purchasing a Green Retreat is a significant investment, and every customer deserves a journey that feels personal, professional and memorable from their very first enquiry.

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and ambitious Assistant Sales & Design Manager to help lead our team in delivering that experience. Working closely with the Sales Manager, you’ll inspire and support the team to consistently exceed expectations, building genuine relationships with customers and guiding them through a consultative sales journey with confidence, care and expertise.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys bringing people together, creating structure and helping others succeed. You’ll play an important role in supporting and developing our Sales & Design Consultants, encouraging them to grow both personally and professionally through coaching, guidance and leading by example. You’ll help create a positive, high‑performing environment where success is celebrated, collaboration is encouraged and every team member feels empowered to do their very best.

The Role

As Assistant Sales & Design Manager, you’ll help ensure the day‑to‑day operation of the department runs seamlessly. You’ll support the customer journey from the point of sale through to the project being sent into production, working closely with not only the sales team, but the wider business to ensure every project progresses smoothly and every customer feels informed, supported and excited throughout their experience.

You’ll help maintain the high standards our customers expect by supporting the smooth running of our internal processes, assisting with operational support and ensuring nothing gets overlooked as projects move through the business.

Beyond supporting our customers journey, you’ll help create the environment that allows both our people and our department to succeed. Through coaching, guidance and day‑to‑day support, you’ll help colleagues develop their confidence and capabilities, while also ensuring the operational side of the department runs smoothly through effective planning, rota management, showroom standards and assisting the Sales Manager with weekly and monthly reporting.

You’ll also provide support to our Twickenham showroom, helping to maintain consistency across both locations through training, operational support, reporting and team development.

Skills & Experience

We’re looking for someone who is passionate about people, motivated by success and excited by the opportunity to help others grow. You’ll be a confident sales professional who enjoys supporting others, naturally leads by example and understands the importance of delivering an exceptional customer experience within a premium brand.

To be successful in this role, you’ll have:

  • At least 2 years’ experience in a sales or customer‑facing environment, with experience coaching, mentoring or supporting the development of others.
  • A proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets while delivering an outstanding customer experience.
  • A genuine passion for inspiring, developing and motivating people to reach both their personal and professional potential.
  • Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
  • A proactive, organised and solutions‑focused approach, with the confidence to take ownership and support those around you.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise effectively in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Commercial awareness and an appreciation for the expectations of customers investing in premium or luxury products.
  • Confidence using CRM systems and Microsoft Office.
  • A full UK driving licence and access to your own transport, as occasional travel to our Twickenham showroom will be required.
