Senior Mechanical HVAC Engineer

Join Jacobs to design high-performance HVAC systems for heavy industrial clients. This role is based anywhere in the United States, with preference for candidates near a Jacobs U.S. office.

Base salary range: $ – $ per year.

• Layout and design of HVAC systems.
• Develop design criteria for HVAC systems including general comfort, precise temperature/humidity control, pressurization, and cleanliness requirements for clean rooms.
• Prepare conceptual and preliminary design documents: sizing calculations, Air Flow Diagrams (AFDs), Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), and general arrangements.
• Prepare final design documents: specifications, operating sequences, duct/piping layout, and construction drawings for chilled water, cooling water, and other systems.
• Coordinate with other disciplines and manage project schedules and technical quality.

• Professional Engineering License.
• At least ten (10) years of HVAC design experience for industrial facilities.
• Deep knowledge of codes and standards for HVAC design.
• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.
• Adaptability to fast‑paced team environment with multiple deadlines.
• Leadership of a building mechanical team and remote collaboration.

• Software expertise in Revit, Carrier HAP, Trane Trace 700, and Trane Trace 3D.
• Design experience in plumbing/utility systems.
