The manager provides guidance, direction and resources for mine engineering and technical services programs supporting production and maintenance, leading engineers, surveyors and technicians who design and implement short-, medium- and long-range mine plans: reviewing and approving mine plans and designs covering surveying, blasting, pit design and life-of-mine development, overseeing technical services and engineering budgets, presenting plans and recommendations to management, hiring, training and mentoring staff, evaluating new mining technologies and processes, and sharing best practices with other operations.

Requirements include a bachelor’s degree, preferably in mining engineering or a related field, 8+ years of related mining, engineering or technical services experience including leadership, strong knowledge of mine planning and design, surveying, drilling and blasting and production support, strong project management skills, and availability to support the mine off-shift, on weekends and holidays; travel is up to 25%.
