Role summary

The General Merchandise and Food Sales team leads inbound, outbound, replenishment, and promotional signing processes for all General Merchandise areas of the store, and supports pick, pack, and ship fulfillment work to enable efficient delivery to our guests.

Responsibilities

• Create a welcoming experience by greeting guests as you are completing your daily tasks.
• Engage with guests to assist with their specific needs and resolve questions quickly.
• Thank guests and acknowledge that you’re happy they chose to shop at Target.
• Perform daily tasks assigned by leadership to support business priorities, including receiving products, restocking shelves, organizing the backroom, arranging merchandise, and placing up promotional signs for GM areas.
• Operate power equipment to move merchandise or store fixtures if certified.
• Execute processes such as price changes, merchandise setup and maintenance, and inventory accuracy as directed.
• Learn how operational procedures affect inventory management, store profitability, and product availability.
• Be knowledgeable about store resources, products, and services to resolve issues and improve guest experience.
• Demonstrate ethical conduct, safety, and compliance; work safely and report hazards.
• Support guest services such as back-up cashier and digital fulfillment processes (e.g., picking and packing orders, delivering pickup orders) while complying with applicable laws.
• All other duties based on business needs.

Physical and schedule requirements

• Accurately handle cash register operations as needed
• Climb ladders; lift or move merchandise up to 44 pounds with or without assistance
• Flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays; reliable attendance
• Work in varying temperatures and conditions; exposure to elements for certain duties (Drive-Up, carryout, etc.)
• Mobile for the duration of shift; shift length may vary
