The Industrialization Engineer II is responsible for the design and deployment of the Safran Electrical and Power (SEP) products production lines; including Generator Control Units (GCUs), Transformer Rectifier Units (TRUs), and other electrical power conversion units. The Industrialization Engineer II assumes ownership of the design and technical transfer of the line's tools to Operations, qualifying them for use with the highest standards of safety, quality, and output.
This includes, but is not limited to:
- Production setup of new products under development, both internally and within the supply base
- Support Manufacturing Engineering during initial production runs to validate development
- Provide inputs for concurrent engineering of Safran product within the supply base
- Support manufacturing and improvement activity
- Participate in design reviews to provide inputs from an industrialization standpoint
- The Industrialization Engineer II is required to monitor supplier compliance with the quality standards & flow downs, validates Production Parts Approval Process on delivered hardware and approves First Articles Inspections (FAIs) as part of managing the industrial validation and risk analysis activity for transfers and/or new products.
- The main function of the Industrialization Engineer II is to work with engineering, operations, and suppliers to optimize the design for manufacturability and cost.
- Create initial production work instructions for generators as well as electrical control and conversion units by utilizing available manufacturing processes and tools design basic tooling and choose optimal assembly methods.
- Responsible for troubleshooting issues which affect production delivery schedules, customer satisfaction and quality.
- Provide industrialization support to the engineering department and the Supplier for process/product improvements.
- Serve as manufacturing representative on new development efforts to ensure design for manufacturability is taken into account within new programs.
- Support assigned improvement programs, products, or transfers.
- May assist Supplier Quality on audits to confirm work instructions conform to drawing requirements.
- Adhere to safe work practices and contributes to the evolution of the health, safety, and environmental program and culture.
- Utilize Lean Manufacturing/One Safran principles and tools to set up efficient production process flows.
- Travel requirement: (general guideline: 10% or less) locally, within the U.S., Outside the U.S.
- Evening/night hours may be required.
- Weekend hours may be required.

Education and/or Experience- BSME, BSEE, or Manufacturing / Industrialization or Engineering degree with experience in Aerospace manufacturing, or relevant practical experience.
- A minimum of 3 years of design or manufacturing experience with aerospace products (electronics is a plus), or in related areas.
- Must be a United States citizen or possess the legal right to work in the U.S. on military and commercial applications.
- Ability to learn and analyze manufacturing processes such as PCB testing, soldering, ESS, copper forming, brazing, impregnation.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical procedures, purchase specifications, applicable FAA regulations and contractual terms and conditions.
- Solid understanding of manufacturing processes and constraints inherent to the aerospace industry.
- Basic knowledge with willingness to learn principles of Continuous Improvement (CI) activities.
- Personality that supports hands-on troubleshooting with ability to follow and learn manufacturing processes.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate verbally and in writing at all levels internally and externally, representing Safran to the suppliers.
- High level of self-motivation and job planning, able to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Enthusiastic, with a drive for results.
- New Product Development & Launch:
