The Project Manager leads engineering development projects, responsible for technical process compliance, schedule, non‑recurring costs, managing technical risks, and adhering to project milestones. They lead a cross‑functional team of engineers across several departments, prioritizing and communicating issues to the Program Manager and upper management.
Job DescriptionEssential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Effective project communication to engineering team, engineering management, program management, and customers (technical aspects).
- Organize and lead technical decision‑making processes, ensuring decisions align with program objectives and lead to optimal outcomes.
- Estimation, planning, coordination, and tracking of engineering work.
- Ensure adherence to the Safran Develop process.
- Project planning and reporting:
- Organize and lead the project (WBS, OBS, top‑level schedule, SOW engineering) in accordance with program objectives.
- Identify resource requirements and maintain the project plan.
- Forecast engineering resource needs (human and financial) for budgeting and financial control.
- Deliver projects to financial targets for Engineering Non‑Recurring Costs (NRC).
- Ensure technical decisions are coherent with recurring cost targets.
- Deliver project output on schedule.
- Manage technical risks (identification, quotation, mitigation, escalation).
- Provide KPIs to the Program Manager and engineering management.
- Process:
- Ensure compliance with airworthiness requirements.
- Deliver definition of and adherence to project milestones, externally and internally.
- Manage system configuration at program level and with customers.
- Request technical audits when necessary.
- Ensure design to industrialization and manufacturability considerations.
- Support lead engineers in interfacing between departments or sites.
- Hours and Travel:
May work nights and weekends, variable schedule; up to 25% travel. - Other duties as assigned.

Job RequirementsQualifications
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s of Science degree in Engineering and a minimum of 4 years of experience in an engineering or technical project management role.
- Demonstrated experience leading the development of new complex technical products, preferably in aerospace or other highly regulated industry.
- Experience working within a matrix organization.
- Experience leading technical teams.
- Experience with MS Project or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience leading cross‑functional program teams.
- Experience developing an aerospace product for a U.S. Military program.
- Aerospace experience and understanding of standards (RTCA DO‑160, DO‑178, DO‑254, ARP
4754A, etc.). - Experience with Power BI.
- PMP Certified.
