Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate and timely financial records in accordance with nonprofit accounting standards and GAAP.
  • Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and expense tracking ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal controls.
  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliations and financial statements for leadership to review on a timely basis.
  • Support budgeting, monitoring, and forecasting processes.
  • Monitor restricted and unrestricted funds ensuring compliance with donor intent; assist with grant reporting and fund tracking.
  • Process payroll in coordination with DFF payroll service provider.
  • Assist with annual audit preparation and required tax filings including Form 990.
  • Maintain documentation of financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Assist the Executive Director with ad‑hoc financial analysis and reporting needs.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies and donor requirements.
Qualifications
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience; nonprofit accounting experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated understanding of restricted funds and grant accounting.
  • Proficiency with Quick Books Online.
  • Proficient in Excel/Google Sheets and general financial reporting tools.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and consistently meet deadlines.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience supporting audits and Form 990 preparation.
  • Knowledge of federal and state compliance for nonprofit organizations.
  • Ability to present financial information clearly to non‑financial audiences.
  • A heart for global and community impact.
  • Flexible, part‑time in‑office schedule.
