Key Responsibilities- Maintain accurate and timely financial records in accordance with nonprofit accounting standards and GAAP.
- Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and expense tracking ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal controls.
- Prepare monthly bank reconciliations and financial statements for leadership to review on a timely basis.
- Support budgeting, monitoring, and forecasting processes.
- Monitor restricted and unrestricted funds ensuring compliance with donor intent; assist with grant reporting and fund tracking.
- Process payroll in coordination with DFF payroll service provider.
- Assist with annual audit preparation and required tax filings including Form 990.
- Maintain documentation of financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Assist the Executive Director with ad‑hoc financial analysis and reporting needs.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies and donor requirements.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
- Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience; nonprofit accounting experience preferred.
- Demonstrated understanding of restricted funds and grant accounting.
- Proficiency with Quick Books Online.
- Proficient in Excel/Google Sheets and general financial reporting tools.
- Exceptional attention to detail with strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and consistently meet deadlines.
- Experience supporting audits and Form 990 preparation.
- Knowledge of federal and state compliance for nonprofit organizations.
- Ability to present financial information clearly to non‑financial audiences.
