Maintenance Technician

Obsidian is searching for a candidate for our client in the Twinsburg, Ohio area for the position of Maintenance Tech, 3rd shift.

Perform a wide variety of mechanical and electrical maintenance work of a skilled and complex nature. Installs, repairs, and maintains manufacturing equipment and plant facilities necessary for satisfactory operation of equipment and processes. This position is moderately physical.

• Diagnose mechanical, electrical/electronic, hydraulic and combustion malfunctions and operating difficulties.
• Determine repair procedures and implement those repairs that will be effective in preventing recurrence.
• Navigate and interpret ladder logic in SLC 500, PLC 5, and Control Logix software to troubleshoot equipment faults.
• Modify positions and diagnose problems on ABB robots:
  Models M94, M98, M2000, M2600, and M6700.
• Install, move, and align new and existing equipment.
• Set up and operate various types of machine shop equipment with moderate accuracy and efficiency.
• Perform both gas and electric welding operations.
• Complete related machine repair records, perform associated handling duties, and maintain a neat and orderly work area.
• Perform all necessary preventive and proactive tasks on plant equipment.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by supervision and/or designated team leader.

• 4 years of related experience in Allen Bradley, hydraulics, robotics, and welding.
• Maintenance Technician “A” level proficiency at troubleshooting die casting machine cells using PLCs, electrical, and hydraulic schematics.

• Certificates or some college courses in technical or vocational subjects.
• Shift timing: 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM.

• Certificates or some college courses in technical or vocational subjects.
• 4 years of experience in Allen Bradley, hydraulics, robotics, and welding.
• Experience troubleshooting die casting machine cells using PLCs, electrical, and hydraulic schematics.
