Objective / Purpose

The primary purpose of this role is to support quality management of the facility. Quality management includes assisting with planning, coordinating, and directing the quality program, which is designed to ensure quality control and quality assurance of the processes consistent with established standards. Additionally, quality management includes the measurement of customer service and continual improvement.

Areas of Responsibility / Tasks

Performance must reflect an appropriate level of expertise and achievement of the desired results for the items listed below.

Training
  • Participate in ISO 9001 external and internal audits while providing guidance facility-wide to ensure compliance to these standards.
  • Instruct others in continuous process improvements, including the use of carious problem solving and productivity techniques such as process mapping and time management.
  • Interpret quality philosophy to personnel within the facility.
  • Review and maintain training records as they’re associating with the laboratory equipment.
Quality Compliance
  • Assist with formulating and maintaining quality objectives complementary to corporate policies and goals.
  • Perform internal process audits and proficiency audits.
  • Perform all administrative duties related to the total quality management system and ISO processes, including but not limited to quality control for incoming and outbound shipments, management of aged / slow moving inventory, and continual improvement throughout the organization.
  • Filing and other clerical duties.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Quality Manager.
Communication
  • Update and distribute controlled documents.
  • Addressing customer questions, inquiries, surveys, and requests in a timely manner.
  • Prepare and distribute updates quarterly for facility quality objectives and initiatives including testing and samples.
  • Keep the management team abreast of significant issues or developments identified during quality activities and actions being taken to improve the situation.
  • Prepare statistical information to the management team during management review (including but not limited to feedback from Quality Objectives, Risk & Opportunity, Corrective Actions, etc.).
Minimum Qualifications / Education / Certifications
  • Education:
    • Associate degree or related training equivalent - required
    • Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience in similar title (with ISO 9001) and scope of responsibility – preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (with emphasis on Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Microsoft Word) and a capability to learn additional systems
  • Familiarity with process mapping and basic quality processes preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business procedures and work instructions.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group settings.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to manage time, organize, and set priorities is key
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Work Environment / Conditions
  • Must be comfortable working in a shared space, with constant noise, with/or without the use of a private office.
  • Must be comfortable working in a warehouse environment around moving machinery.
  • Schedules may vary from week to week based on business demands in excess of 40 hours with or without notice.
  • All injuries regardless of severity must be reported to your Supervisor/HR immediately.
