Reports to: The head coach, who provides overall objectives and final evaluation in conjunction with the high school principals.

Job Goal: To instruct athletes in the fundamental skills, strategy and physical training necessary for them to realize a degree of individual and team success. At the same time, the coach must provide behaviors that lead to socially acceptable character development, self‑discipline, self‑confidence, and pride of accomplishment in the student athletes. The coach will upgrade knowledge and skills through coaching clinics, observations, consultation, etc.

• Previous successful soccer coaching experience with the ability to assist in organizing and supervising a total soccer program.
• Substantial knowledge of the technical aspects of the sport, with continuous study of new theories and procedures pertinent to the field.
• Serves as an appropriate role model for student athletes through instructions and actions.
• A thorough knowledge of all athletic policies approved by the Twinsburg City School District’s Board of Education and responsibility for implementing them by the entire staff of the sports program.
• Knowledge of existing system, state and league regulations; implements them consistently and interprets them for staff.
• Understands the fundamental philosophy, skills and techniques of a soccer program.

• Assist the athletic director in scheduling, providing transportation and requirements for tournaments and special sport events.
• Assist in necessary preparation to hold scheduled sport events or practices and adhere to scheduled facility times; coordinate program with maintenance and school employees.
• Provide documentation to fulfill state and system requirements concerning physical examinations, parental consent and eligibility.
• Provide proper safeguards for maintenance and protection of assigned equipment sites.
• Serve as a mentor to each athlete, promoting the development and demonstration of trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, and citizenship.
• Give constant attention to a student athlete’s grades and conduct.
• Provide assistance, guidance and safeguards for all participants at practices, games and while traveling.
• Provide training rules and any unique regulations of the sport to each athlete.
• Help initiate programs and policies concerning injuries, medical attention and emergencies.
• Participate in budgeting with the head coach by establishing requirements for the next season.
• Assist the head coach in properly marking and identifying all equipment before issuing or storing.
• Supervise athletes and ensure they are in authorized areas at appropriate times.
• Examine locker rooms before and after practices and games, checking general cleanliness; responsible for maintenance of sport equipment.
• Instill respect for equipment and school property, its care and proper use.
• Promote the sport within the school by recruiting athletes not in other sports.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the athletic director/principal.
