Physician Assistant – Cardiothoracic Surgery

Level I Trauma Center | Flexible 12‑Hour Shifts | ICU Rounding & Procedural Focus

We are actively seeking a PA with a strong surgical and ICU background to provide critical perioperative and post‑operative care for cardiac and thoracic surgery patients. This position offers a fast‑paced, high‑acuity environment with flexible 12‑hour shifts (day and night available).

Schedule

• 12‑hour shifts (7 AM – 7 PM & 7 PM – 7 AM)
• Multiple shift openings available in April, May, and June
• Immediate start dates available – expedited credentialing in 5‑7 days!

Patient Volume

20‑25 patients per day

Case Responsibilities

• ICU rounding – Pre‑ and post‑operative care for cardiac and thoracic surgery patients
• Ventilator management – Oversee patients as they transition off mechanical ventilation
• Surgical patient care – Manage open‑heart, VATS (video‑assisted thoracoscopic surgery), and lung cases as they recover post‑operatively

Certifications Required

ACLS & BLS required

Support Staff

Work alongside a dedicated team of cardiothoracic surgeons, intensivists, and specialized nursing staff

Credentialing Timeframe

Fast‑track process – approval within 5‑7 days!

Epic

Licensing Requirements

Active TX License or IMLC (Interstate Medical Licensure Compact) eligibility
