Construction Project Engineer

Our Transportation-Construction Management Practice provides construction engineering and inspections services from the preconstruction phase through maintenance and operations. By joining our team, you will contribute to managing field inspection of roadway and bridge transportation projects, assist with progress and final estimates, review engineering calculations, interpret contract documents, draft engineering solutions, and oversee contractors to ensure projects are built within plan and specification conformity.

You will work on road and bridge projects for transportation owners, including the Texas Department of Transportation, as part of a project-specific team within a larger Texas Transportation-Construction Management organization.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor''s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university
• Minimum of 4 years of experience with major road or bridge construction
• Licensed Professional Engineer in Texas or the ability to obtain within 6 months
• Must obtain any required certifications and pass appropriate qualifications tests for the position in specified time frames
• Good verbal and written communication skills required
• Valid Driver''s License with a good driving record
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Ability to sit, stand, climb, bend, twist, or stoop frequently and for prolonged periods
• Ability to reach horizontally as well as vertically for required tasks
• Ability to use construction or inspection safety equipment including fall protection
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds

Preferred Qualifications:

• 1 - 3 years of hands-on experience using CADD software, preferably Micro Station, and experience with Highway Design and Work Zone Traffic Control Plans
• Experience with Design-Bid-Build, Design-Build, CMGC, and other alternative contract delivery methods
• OSHA 10 hour
