Position Overview
The Cost Accounting Coordinator Lead is responsible for overseeing and leading the costing accounting coordinators within the department. This role involves managing the coordinators with day-to-day tasks, training (virtual & on-site), communication, and will be the go-to on 2nd shift. This position will not manage the other Coordinators’ times, including time off requests.

Key Responsibilities- Lead Costing Team:
Manage and provide leadership to team Cost Accounting Coordinators, ensuring smooth operations and the timely completion of all costing activities. - Costing and Financial Analysis:
Oversee the preparation and analysis of Cost Accounting reports, i.e., yields, end of shift reports. - Collaboration:
Coordinate with other departments such as operations, QA, and supply chain as needed. - Process Improvement:
Continuously assess and improve costing methodologies, ensuring compliance with industry best practices, cost-saving initiatives, and process efficiency. - Training & Development:
Mentor team members, providing training and development opportunities to ensure the team’s growth and skill enhancement.
- Education:
Associate’s degree required or working towards this goal. - Experience:
A minimum of 2 years of experience in costing, finance, or accounting, with at least 1 year in leadership/oversight role. - Technical
Skills:
Proficiency in costing software, ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle), and intermediate Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Outlook, Word). - Leadership
Skills:
Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to guide, motivate, and support a team. - Analytical
Skills:
Strong analytical abilities, with experience in cost analysis. - Communication:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact with both internal teams and external stakeholders on 1st and 2nd shift. - Problem-Solving:
Ability to think critically and solve complex problems related to costing and pricing. Be willing to ask why and pursue the most appropriate answer.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and efficiency.

- Strong communicators as they will be the voice of 2nd shift to 1st shift management.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple projects.
- A proactive approach to identifying and addressing cost‑saving opportunities.
- This job is carried out in a professional office setting and involves using standard office equipment like laptops, desk phones, and smartphones. Regular visits to production facilities may also be required. During those visits, the employee is occasionally exposed to cold and/or humid conditions. The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, cold temperatures, electrical shock and vibration risks.
The noise level in the work environment is moderate.
- Employees must be able to stand, walk, or sit; use their hands for tasks; reach with their arms; and communicate verbally. Occasional lifting or moving objects is necessary, along with close, distance, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- The role requires standing and walking for extended periods, often over eight hours per shift. The employee must be able to use hands, fingers, arms, and reach as part of daily tasks. The position involves lifting and moving up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally. Visual requirements include the ability to see up close, at a distance, and to adjust focus.
Repetitive movement, bending, twisting, and climbing may be required.
