- Provide exceptional customer service during every patient encounter (in person or via phone)
- Display a professional attitude, greet patients promptly with a smile, and thank them when they leave
- Practice urgency at all times relative to patient and physician schedules
- Comply with all company policies and procedures including HIPAA
- Verify patient information by interviewing patients
- Record medical history, current medications and confirm purpose of visit
- Enter all data in the patient's Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
- Check condition of patients' eyes by observing pupils, muscles, visual acuity, and extraocular movements
- Perform diagnostic tests including dilation, refraction, pressure measurements, visual fields, OCT, GDX, IOL master, auto refractor and topography
- Demonstrate working knowledge of eye anatomy, diseases, symptoms, and ocular medications
- Perform general office duties and cleaning as assigned by management
- Desire to gain industry knowledge and training
- Demonstrate initiative in accomplishing practice goals
- Adapt to change and grow professionally
- Create a positive work environment through teamwork and patient focus
- Interact courteously and professionally with all employee levels
- Commit to work over 40 hours to meet business needs
- Work weekends when applicable
- Maintain reliable transportation allowing travel to multiple locations with minimal notice
- Use hands to finger, handle, or feel during duties
- Stand, walk, sit frequently
- Lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, occasionally up to 25 pounds
- Maintain close, color, peripheral, depth, and focus vision
- High school diploma or GED required
- One year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination
- Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) or Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) preferred
- Favorable background check result required
- Provide proof of identity and right to work in the United States
