• UT Health Tyler, the flagship hospital of the system, has 502 licensed beds and specializes in advanced acute‑care medicine. It includes a 24‑hour ER with Level 1 trauma center, a comprehensive stroke center, more than 500 physicians, and a full complement of subspecialty groups.

• Learn under the supervision of a certified scrub technologist how to scrub cases, don gowns and gloves using sterile technique, and hold retractors when needed.
• Facilitate a self‑learning process of sterile technique, surgeon anticipation, assertive communication, and prioritization in the scrub role.
• Assist with turnover cleaning and set‑up preparation for subsequent cases.
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Currently enrolled in or a graduate of a Surgical Scrub Technologist program with a need for clinical hours.
• BLS certification obtained within 14 days of hire or prior to providing direct patient care.
