Pharmacy Floor Technician - Contract to Hire
* TX

Location: Abilene(3) and Tyler (2) TX

Schedule: Rotating shifts (8:00–5:00 PM and 11:00–8:30 PM), every other weekend 8:00–5:00 PM

Type: Contract-to-Hire

Position Overview

The Pharmacy Technician supports daily pharmacy operations by accurately filling, picking, labeling, and preparing prescriptions for final pharmacist verification. This role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to work at a steady pace, and adherence to safety and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Accurately and efficiently fill daily drug orders under pharmacist supervision.
  • Pull, pick, and prepare medications from shelves and storage areas.
  • Apply labels to blister packs and scan products for accuracy.
  • Notify the pharmacist of any medication or product that does not scan properly.
  • Assist with processing returned medications and recycling/disposal per guidelines.
  • Prepack frequently ordered medications, label, and store during low-volume periods.
  • Perform manual packaging of materials and products.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workstation; restock supplies as needed.
  • Follow all applicable regulations, including HIPAA.
  • Adhere to departmental policies related to attendance, safety, and dress code.
  • Work overtime, holidays, and weekends as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Active and clear Texas Pharmacy Technician License (Texas Board of Pharmacy).
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Ability to work at a moderate, consistent pace.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous pharmacy technician experience.
Physical Demands
  • Ability to sit, stand, bend, stoop, and walk intermittently throughout the day.
  • Ability to sit or stand for 7–10 hours daily.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally.
  • Finger dexterity for operating equipment.
  • Visual acuity for reading fine print; close vision, color vision, and focus adjustment required.
  • Ability to hear normal voice levels.
  • Extended hours may be needed based on business needs.
