Responsibilities- Assists clients in activities of daily living, including personal hygiene requirements, in accordance with specific assignments provided by a supervisor.
- Supervises clients during activities to enable safe functioning.
- Maintains compliance with all At Home Health policies, procedures, guidelines, and all applicable state and federal laws and regulations.
- Immediately reports significant changes in the client’s environment, behaviors, or circumstances to the supervisor.
- Monitors the client environment for safety hazards and takes appropriate actions to eliminate or report them.
- Requires a pleasant and cheerful demeanor, helpful attitude, and the ability to handle stressful situations.
- Must effectively carry out duties, cooperate, and support fellow workers daily.
- Personal assistance services, as defined in TAC 40 Chapter 97, may be performed by an unlicensed person at least 18 years old who demonstrates competency.
- Competency is determined by the checklist at orientation.
- Ability to understand and follow detailed oral and written instructions.
- Completion of required training.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally, 20 pounds frequently, and 10 pounds continuously.
- Physical requirements include bending, stooping, twisting, reaching, lifting, carrying, pulling, pushing, climbing, kneeling, walking, and standing over 75% of the shift.
- Sitting approximately 25%; standing, stooping, bending, climbing approximately 55%; walking approximately 20%.
- Ability to recognize differences in sounds, such as voices or noises.
- Patience, tact, initiative, judgment, and confidentiality.
- Work under minimal supervision, aware that errors may have serious consequences.
- Ability to recognize changes in a client’s appearance, attitude, and condition.
