We are a Premier Pain Management and PM&R practice seeking a California-licensed Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our upbeat, dynamic team! Our multidisciplinary approach combines non-pharmacological treatments (PT, psychology, acupuncture), interventional procedures (spinal, joint, nerve injections, neuromodulation, RFA, etc.), and pain medications.
We do not prescribe high-dosage opioids.
This is a part-time role (3 days/week) with the opportunity for full-time in the near future
.
Compensation: $68.00 – $100.00/hour (DOE)
Responsibilities- Conduct histories & physical exams related to pain, spine, and musculoskeletal medicine
- Evaluate, diagnose, and treat acute and chronic pain conditions
- Manage patients in outpatient clinic and occasional inpatient/SNF consults
- Order & interpret diagnostic tests and labs
- Prescribe medications and initiate non-pharmacological treatments
- Educate and counsel patients & families on pain management options
- Coordinate care and facilitate referrals as needed
- Adhere to safe patient management and prescribing protocols
- Collaborate closely with physicians and specialists
- Licensed PA or NP in California with clean record
- DEA license (or ability to obtain)
- Excellent clinical, communication, and teamwork skills
- Experience in pain medicine, PM&R, primary care, SNF, or hospital/ER settings
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment
- Strong patient rapport-building and service mindset
- Familiarity with diagnosing & treating acute/chronic pain and musculoskeletal conditions
- Experience with trigger point and basic joint injections
- Knowledge of interventional pain procedures (epidurals, nerve blocks, RFA, neuromodulation, Botox for migraines, etc.)
- Understanding of prescribing safety protocols, especially with comorbidities
- Familiarity with prior authorization and utilization review guidelines (PPO, Workers Comp, etc.)
- Comfort with diagnostic studies (imaging, EMG, lab work, urine drug toxicology)
- Willingness to rotate between Burbank clinic and SNF consults in Pasadena & East San Fernando Valley
- Multi-lingual skills
