Works with and through Management at assigned location(s) to ensure compliance with all Federal and State safety and health regulations and promote the safety program to the highest level. Requires extensive knowledge of OSHA standards and State and Local Regulations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Provides proactive leadership to teammates and established a safety culture.
- Assists with company safety audits/inspections at assigned location. Responsible for coordinating action plan to resolve any audit/inspection findings.
- Maintains documentation necessary to comply with the Safety Management Plan, OSHA and other applicable regulations.
- Works with plant management to enforce safety policies and procedures that help prevent accidents.
- Represents the site in incident investigations, complaints, and recommends measures to management to prevent reoccurrences.
- Interacts with OSHA and other regulatory agencies regarding citations, accidents, claims, site visits and audits.
- Organizes and conducts safety meetings and training.
- Interacts and communicates with Capital Expenditures/Project Management team to ensure contractor and subcontractor safety.
- Able to adapt to a flexible, fast-paced, and dynamic work environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in industrial safety or related field is preferred, and at least four (4) years of work experience in environmental health and/or industrial safety, or related field required.
- Experience conducting safety audits required.
- OSHA 30, OSHA 511 and/or OSHA 501 certification preferred.
- Must be able to read and analyze reports, periodicals, data, and other safety materials.
- Must have strong communication skills, both orally and written. Must be able to write reports, business correspondence, and safety procedure manuals.
