Summary

The Valve Technician is responsible for assembling and disassembling valve/packing cases and inspecting all items that come into the Valve shop.

• Assemble (and disassemble) valves/packing cases correctly and in a timely manner.
• Test all valves and packing cases according to company procedures.
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
• Participate in company Lean and 5S initiatives.

• Mathematical concepts such as probability, statistical inference, and geometry.
• Practical application of fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions.
• Problem‑solving in situations with limited standardization.
• Interpretation of written, oral, diagrammatic, and schedule instructions.

• HS diploma or related job experience.
• Ability to read O.D. and depth measurements with dial calipers.

• Regular standing for long periods.
• Use of hands, fingers, or feet required.
• Occasional sitting.
• Frequent lifting or moving of up to 25 pounds; occasional lifting or moving of up to 50 pounds.
• Need for close vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.

• Exposure to moving mechanical parts.
• Exposure to fumes, airborne particles, and vibration.
