Summary
The Valve Technician is responsible for assembling and disassembling valve/packing cases and inspecting all items that come into the Valve shop.
Responsibilities- Assemble (and disassemble) valves/packing cases correctly and in a timely manner.
- Test all valves and packing cases according to company procedures.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
- Participate in company Lean and 5S initiatives.
- Mathematical concepts such as probability, statistical inference, and geometry.
- Practical application of fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions.
- Problem‑solving in situations with limited standardization.
- Interpretation of written, oral, diagrammatic, and schedule instructions.
- HS diploma or related job experience.
- Ability to read O.D. and depth measurements with dial calipers.
- Regular standing for long periods.
- Use of hands, fingers, or feet required.
- Occasional sitting.
- Frequent lifting or moving of up to 25 pounds; occasional lifting or moving of up to 50 pounds.
- Need for close vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
- Exposure to moving mechanical parts.
- Exposure to fumes, airborne particles, and vibration.
