Overview

UT Health East Texas in Tyler, Texas is seeking an experienced Inpatient Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to join our thriving GI team at a 432‑bed Level 1 Trauma Center.

• Join a GI team of 4 physicians, 2 advanced practice providers, and support staff.
• Provide inpatient care only.
• Work a 7‑on, 7‑off schedule:
  Thursday 7:30 am–5:30 pm.
• Manage a daily patient volume of 15–20 patients.
• Perform initial assessments, history, and physical exams on hospitalized patients with GI issues.
• Manage inpatient GI consults including GI bleeds, IBD flares, liver disease, and pancreatitis.
• Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with the GI team.
• Order and interpret labs, imaging, and endoscopic results.
• Coordinate care with surgery, internal medicine, and other services.
• Utilize Epic EMR and Ambience AI scribe technology to streamline documentation.
