- UT Health Tyler is the flagship hospital of the system, serving hundreds of thousands annually. Specializing in advanced acute care medicine, our Midtown location boasts a Level 1 trauma center and comprehensive stroke center, the region’s only EMCO program, and a Level III NICU. Our medical staff includes more than 500 physicians and a full complement of subspecialty groups.
- Administers care to a patient population ranging from newborn to geriatric and utilizes a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach to ensure that each patient receives nursing care appropriate to his/her illness or injury.
- Prioritizes patient care needs based on the patient assessment and uses the nursing process to implement a plan of care appropriate to each patient’s needs.
- Delivers care consistent with the physician’s orders and treatment protocols and in accordance with hospital and departmental policy.
Job Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Associate’s degree in nursing (ADN)
- Must maintain current Texas RN License
- BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is required before the end of orientation
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) is required before the end of orientation
- NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale) certification before the end of orientation
Preferred
Job Requirements:
- One year of emergency nursing experience.
- Two years of acute care nursing experience
- CEN
- Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC)
