American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Cardiovascular ICU position requiring prior travel experience and TX or compact RN licensure.

• Work in the Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) of a hospital setting
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00-07:00)
• Uses Epic charting system
• Scrub color: dark gray

• Active TX or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• Current certifications: BLS and ACLS
• Minimum 2 years of CVICU experience preferred
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line, central line, and PICC line management
• Experience with care of ECMO patients and nurse-driven ECMO protocols
• Experience with Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP) management
• Experience with post cardiac surgery care (not directly from OR)
• Experience with Pulmonary Artery Line/Swan Ganz monitoring
• Experience caring for ventilated patients and interpreting ABGs
• Experience titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips and continuous IV sedation
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and management
• Experience managing multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
• Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE protocols
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred

• Provide critical care nursing to cardiovascular ICU patients, including those on ECMO and IABP support
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility will not be accepted as locals
• Candidates residing in Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, or Morris counties are not eligible for contract
• Former staff must wait at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• All requested RTO must be submitted at time of consideration, with no more than 3 days auto-approved and none during the first week of orientation
• Travel pairs or groups are not accepted for this position
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this role
