American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring prior travel experience and a TX or compact RN license.

• Work on a medical-surgical unit with telemetry capabilities focused on vascular disease patients ranging from young adults to geriatrics
• Unit includes 12 private rooms and 2 semi-private rooms with a potential maximum census of 16 patients
• Admissions may include other medical-surgical and telemetry overflow patients
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Charting completed in Epic
• Floating required
• Weekend shifts required

• Active TX or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• BLS certification required; NIHSS certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Experience with IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, central line blood draw, peripheral line care, PICC line management, and starting/maintaining IVs
• Experience with colostomy/ileostomy management and feeding tube care
• Experience administering heparin, insulin, and PCA medications
• Experience with high flow nasal cannula, nasal cannula, oral suctioning, and oxygen administration
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, telemetry monitoring, and rapid response/code team involvement
• Experience with pre/post hemodialysis management and renal failure care
• Wound care and wound vac experience required

• Provide medical-surgical and telemetry nursing care to a diverse patient population with vascular disease diagnoses
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not accepted
• Candidates residing in Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, or Morris counties are not accepted
• Previous staff must wait one year before returning as a traveler
• Travel pairs or groups are not accepted
• All requested time off must be submitted at time of consideration, with no more than 3 days auto-approved and no time off permitted during the first week of orientation
