American Traveler is hiring an experienced Med/Surg RN with travel experience and TX or compact RN license for a night shift position with telemetry and vascular disease care.

• Medical-surgical unit with telemetry capabilities focused on vascular disease diagnoses
• Unit consists of 12 private rooms and 2 semi-private rooms with a maximum census of 16 patients
• Patient population ranges from young adulthood through geriatrics
• Admissions may also include other medical-surgical and telemetry overflow patients
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hour shifts (19:00-7:00)
• Weekend shifts required
• Floating required
• Uses Epic charting system

• Active TX or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• BLS certification required; NIHSS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Experience with 1:6 patient ratios
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Skills in IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, and central/peripheral/PICC line management
• Experience with colostomy/ileostomy and feeding tube care and management
• Experience administering Heparin, Insulin, and PCA medications
• Respiratory skills including HFNC, nasal cannula, oral suctioning, and oxygen administration
• Cardiac monitoring skills including dysrhythmia interpretation and management, telemetry monitoring, and rapid response/code team participation preferred
• Experience with pre/post hemodialysis management and renal failure care preferred
• Wound care/wound vac experience preferred

• Provide direct patient care on a medical-surgical/telemetry unit with a focus on vascular disease cases
• Must complete onboarding core items/labs within 48 hours of contract signing
• Travelers residing in Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, and Morris counties will not be considered
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility will not be considered
• Former staff must wait at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• No travel pairs or groups accepted
• No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved, and no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation
• All RTO must be listed at time of consideration
