American Traveler is seeking a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift position requiring 2 years of experience and prior travel assignment experience.

• Medical-surgical unit with telemetry capabilities focused on vascular disease diagnoses
• 12 private rooms and 2 semi-private rooms with a maximum census of 16 patients
• Patient population ranges from young adults through geriatrics
• Admissions may include medical-surgical and telemetry overflow patients
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Charting performed in Epic
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (19:00-7:30)
• Floating required
• Weekends required

• Active TX or Compact RN license required and must be in hand at time of consideration
• BLS certification required; NIHSS certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Experience with IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, central line and PICC line management required
• Experience with colostomy/ileostomy and feeding tube care required
• Experience administering Heparin, Insulin, and PCA medications required
• Respiratory care skills required including HFNC, nasal cannula, oxygen administration, and oral suctioning
• Cardiac monitoring skills required including dysrhythmia interpretation and management, telemetry monitoring, and use of Rapid Response/Code teams
• Experience with pre/post hemodialysis management and renal failure care preferred
• Wound care/wound vac experience preferred

• Provide direct patient care on a medical-surgical telemetry unit treating patients with vascular disease and related conditions
• Must complete core onboarding items and labs within 48 hours of contract signing
• Onsite orientation modules required, averaging 4-6 hours for RNs
• No travel pairs or groups accepted
• Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be considered
• Not eligible if residing in certain nearby counties (Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, and Morris)
• Former staff must wait at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• All requested time off must be submitted prior to consideration, with no more than 3 days auto-approved and none during the first week of orientation
