American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift ICU RN with TX or compact RN license and ICU experience for a Medical-Surgical ICU setting.

• Medical-Surgical ICU setting
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
• Patient ratio of 1:2 to 1:3
• Epic charting system used

• Active TX or compact RN license required at time of consideration
• BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIHSS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience preferred
• Epic charting experience required
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Experience in teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II settings preferred
• Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line management, central and PICC line care, blood product administration, and TPN/Lipids
• Competency in ventilator management, ABG interpretation, and care of patients with respiratory failure or pulmonary embolism
• Experience with CRRT/CVVHD and renal failure management preferred
• Familiarity with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and titration of cardiac/vasoactive drips
• Experience with neurological conditions such as CVA, ICP monitoring, EVD, and traumatic brain injury preferred
• Experience in CVICU, Trauma ICU, or Neuro ICU settings preferred

• Care for critically ill patients with multisystem organ dysfunction or failure
• Provide comprehensive ICU nursing care including medication administration, monitoring, and emergency response
• Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to manage complex patient conditions
• Must reside outside of specific Texas counties (Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, and Morris) to be eligible
• Locals within 50 miles are not accepted
• Previous staff must wait one year before returning as a traveler
• All RTO must be listed at time of consideration; no more than 3 days will be auto-approved and none during the first week of orientation
• Travel pairs or groups are not accepted
• Onboarding modules must be completed within 48 hours of contract signing, typically onsite during orientation
