Travel RN - Labor & Delivery

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring a TX or compact license and prior travel nursing experience.

• Active TX or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required
• AWHONN certification required (Beginner, Intermediate, or Advanced level)
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Experience with fetal monitoring, EFM, and obstetrical triage
• Skilled in labor and delivery management including assisting with vaginal deliveries and circulating for C-sections
• Experience with high-risk antepartum care and medication administration including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and antihypertensives
• Trauma Level I and teaching hospital experience preferred
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred

• Labor & Delivery unit within a hospital setting with high-risk antepartum, Mother/Baby, and LDRP capabilities
• Facility delivers 100-200 births per month
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM
• Patient ratios:
  Labor 1:2, Antepartum 1:3, Mother/Baby 1:3
• Epic EMR used for charting
• Provide comprehensive care across antepartum, labor and delivery, and postpartum phases
• Assist with high-risk deliveries, C-sections, and newborn care including APGAR scoring and thermoregulation
• Support breastfeeding and lactation education for postpartum patients
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility will not be accepted as locals
• Previous staff members must wait one year before returning as a traveler
• Travel pairs or groups are not accepted
• No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved, and no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation
• Candidates residing in Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, or Morris counties will not be considered
• Must complete core onboarding items and labs within 48 hours of contract signing
