American Traveler is seeking an experienced CVICU RN with prior travel experience and TX or compact RN licensure for a cardiovascular intensive care position.
Requirements- Active TX or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of CVICU experience preferred
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Epic charting experience required
- Skills in IV therapy, arterial line, central line, and PICC line management required
- Experience with cardiovascular care, ECMO, and nurse-driven ECMO protocols required
- Experience with Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP) and Pulmonary Artery Line/Swan Ganz monitoring required
- Experience caring for post cardiac surgery patients (not directly from OR) required
- Experience with ventilated patients and interpretation of ABGs required
- Experience titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips and continuous IV sedation required
- Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management required
- Experience managing patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure required
- Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE required
- Previous charge nurse experience preferred
- Teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
- Work in the Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) of a hospital setting
- Patient ratio of 1:2
- Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
- Uses Epic charting system
- Dark gray scrub color required
- Candidates residing in Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, or Morris counties will not be contracted
- Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not accepted
- Former staff must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
- All requested time off must be submitted at time of consideration, with no more than 3 days auto-approved and none during the first week of orientation
- Travel pairs or groups not accepted
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this role
