The Commercial Leasing Associate acts as a primary driver of demand for commercial rental properties within the portfolio of The Genecov Group (“Company”). The primary purpose of this role is to exhibit exceptional marketing and sales skills to generate qualified leads for Company vacancies. This position plays a key role in driving leasing activity, strengthening tenant relationships, and supporting the Commercial Real Estate team in achieving occupancy goals.

Duties

and Responsibilities
  • Develop leads within the provided list of vacancies to drive leasing opportunities through cold calling and lead generation campaigns.
  • Work with the Commercial Transactions Team to identify key targets and craft strategic marketing and outreach campaigns.
  • Conduct a high volume of outreach via in-person visits, phone, and email to prospective tenants.
  • Receive and vet incoming inquiries regarding Company properties through phone, email, and online platforms.
  • Schedule and conduct property tours for prospective tenants.
  • Develop and maintain a database of prospective tenants for current and future vacancies.
  • Qualify prospective tenants and coordinate with the Transactions Approval Team for next steps.
  • Manage assigned vacancies efficiently by maintaining listings, maximizing leads, and ensuring consistent follow-up with prospects.
  • Perform research on businesses and market conditions to support lead generation and qualification activities.
  • Utilize social media and digital marketing tools to support outreach initiatives.
  • Gather and analyze market data and business intelligence on prospective tenants to inform outreach and leasing presentations.
  • Learn and master all property and vacancy details to effectively communicate information to prospects.
  • Present property information in a professional and compelling manner.
  • Collaborate with the Sr. Commercial Transactions Manager to refine and implement best sales practices.
  • Work closely with other Commercial Associates to establish goals, share insights, and increase leasing demand.
  • Identify and qualify acquisition opportunities for the Company, as assigned.
  • Assist the Asset Manager and Vice President of Real Estate with purchase and sale transactions as needed.
  • Support event coordination and logistics for networking conventions and industry events.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Sr. Commercial Transactions Manager, Asset Manager, or Vice President of Real Estate.
  • Reports directly to the Sr. Commercial Transactions Manager.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or comparable industry-related experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of professional sales experience.
  • Proven ability to connect with people both in-person and over the phone.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a natural ability to build positive relationships.
  • Highly organized and responsive with timely follow-up skills.
  • Skilled in objection handling and negotiation tactics.
  • Demonstrated ability to persuade and qualify prospective tenants.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve differences diplomatically.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; intermediate Excel skills required.
  • Experience with CRM systems and data tracking preferred.
