Position Overview
Hospitality Health ER is seeking a dependable and skilled Maintenance Technician to help keep our emergency room facilities in Tyler, Texas safe, functional, and patient-ready at all times. This full-time position is essential to our mission of delivering exceptional care in a clean, professional, and fully operational environment.
The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable addressing both routine maintenance tasks and urgent facility needs with confidence and professionalism.
Key ResponsibilitiesUnder the direction of the Quality Assurance Director, the Maintenance Technician will:
- Complete assigned maintenance work orders efficiently and on time
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests and participate in scheduled on-call coverage
- Perform general facility maintenance, including:
- Minor plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and HVAC repairs
- Light bulb replacement, paint touch-ups, and minor drywall repairs
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and maintain building systems and equipment
- Assemble, install, and repair furniture, cabinetry, shelving, appliances, and equipment according to manufacturer specifications
- Ensure proper functionality of safety and life-safety systems
- Coordinate and collaborate with contractors, vendors, and internal teams during renovations or facility projects
- Assist with facility improvement projects such as painting, landscaping, power washing, and parking lot striping
- Attend maintenance- and construction-related meetings as needed
- Operate a company vehicle for work-related assignments
- Maintain a professional appearance and comply with all company policies and safety protocols
- Strong communication skills and a positive, team-oriented mindset
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively
- Flexibility to meet scheduling needs, including on-call responsibilities
- High level of integrity and accountability when handling company resources (credit card, petty cash, vehicle)
- Valid, unrestricted driver’s license
- Ability to work professionally with staff, leadership, and physicians
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum of two (2) years of related maintenance experience
- Experience with painting and drywall repair
- Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems
- Proficiency with hand and power tools
- Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and drawings
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
This position requires the ability:
- Stand and walk for extended periods
- Bend, stoop, push, pull, climb, and perform repetitive physical tasks
- Lift and carry items weighing 50 pounds or more as needed
- Work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
- Work indoors and outdoors, with exposure to varying weather conditions
- Perform duties in fast-paced or potentially stressful environments
- Safely handle chemicals and hazardous materials
- Tolerate potential exposure to communicable diseases and bodily fluids
