Title: Part Time X-Ray Technologist

Reports to: X-Ray Manager

Location: North Chelmsford & Waterford

Hours: 34 hours a week; 7:30am to 4pm

Days: Monday-Thursday or Tuesday through Friday

Responsibilities
  • Acquire digital radiographic images as ordered by clinicians using x-ray machines
  • Prepare patient for radiological procedure by positioning patient, moving equipment into specified position and adjusting equipment controls to set exposure factors.
  • Minimize radiation to patient and staff by practicing radiation protection techniques, using beam restrictive devices, patient shielding, and knowledge of exposure factors
  • Acquire C-Arm films for epidural steroid injections
  • Enter applicable orders into the practice management system
  • Review for proper identification and quality check
  • Prepare digital imaging for reading by physicians
  • Transport patients from radiologic diagnostic procedures to exam room.
  • Upload images to patient chart if necessary
  • Burn CDs requested by patient after release is obtained
  • File films, discs and records if necessary
  • Maintain a clean workstation by sanitizing in between each patient and at the end of every shift
Qualifications
  • ARRT Certification and Registration
  • Massachusetts State License
  • Ability to react calmly and effectively under stress
  • Develop and maintain effective and professional working relationships with patients, medical staff, coworkers and the public by displaying sympathy, tact and understanding
  • Must be a team player with a positive attitude, adjust to various personalities, work with a diverse population, demonstrating patience and professionalism
  • Promotes teamwork through collaboration
  • Ability to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and procedures
  • Represents the clinic in a professional manner
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality on all patient issues
Knowledge
  • Familiarity with HIPAA, insurance regulations, policies, procedures and other regulatory policies
  • Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe working environment
  • Medical office procedures, policies, practices and medical terminology, telephone protocol and professional etiquette
  • Electronic medical systems is a plus, including Athena/Centricity, Medi-Tech and the like
