Roll-Off Truck Driver

Position Summary:

A Driver- CDL (B) is responsible for safely operating a collection truck and providing prompt, courteous, and complete waste removal services for customers. The driver must ensure that the vehicle complies with company safety standards, adhere to state, federal, and company regulations, and complete vehicle condition reports (VCRs) daily to address vehicle defects in a timely manner.

• Perform pre‑ and post‑operation inspections of the vehicle to ensure tire pressure, fluid levels, safety equipment, gauges, and controls are in proper working order. Report any safety issues on standard reports.
• Safely operate the heavy truck along the designated route and to the disposal site, reading the route sheet, following the map, and servicing each customer as identified.
• Operate manual and/or automatic controls to lift and load refuse, operate the compactor, and dispose of collected material at the designated facility.
• Courteously interact with customers, dispatchers, and others to ensure all customer routes are serviced in a timely and professional manner.
• Identify unsatisfactory waste containers and tag them in accordance with departmental procedures.
• Continuously monitor waste for evidence of unacceptable waste.
• Clean the area around an accidental waste spill, ensuring adherence to all applicable safety standards and policies.
• Continuously monitor the vehicle condition to keep it operationally ready, minimizing downtime; clean waste from the packer blade and truck body (where appropriate) on each disposal trip.
• Complete required route/productivity sheets, VCRs, and other reports as required.
• Maintain adherence to required productivity standards for the department to ensure all customers are serviced efficiently.
• Follow all required safety policies and procedures.
• Actively participate in the company’s ReSOP program.
• Perform other job‑related duties as assigned.
• Demonstrate good customer service skills, professionalism, courtesy, and honesty toward customers and co‑workers.
• Use good time management skills to complete responsibilities safely and efficiently.
• Follow work schedules and address challenges promptly.
• Adhere to company policies and promote safety standards without taking inappropriate risks.
• Maintain pride in work and strive to achieve all goals.

• Class B or higher Commercial Driver’s License with air brakes endorsement.

$23.40 - $35.10 per hour
