Who We’re Looking For

PIRTEK is hiring for a Hydraulic Hose Service & Sales Technician to service, assemble, and install hydraulic and industrial hoses for a diverse customer base in varying environmental conditions. This is a messy job that requires manual labor and on-call hours (on-call with incentive pay), so dedication and grit is essential. We are looking for highly driven and self-sufficient individuals with excellent communication and customer service skills.

Hydraulic and industrial hose experience is NOT required. Each Hydraulic Hose Service & Sales Technician is provided complete training on industry knowledge, PIRTEK processes, safety standards, and how to operate your purpose-built mobile service unit. PIRTEK also provides support through a 24/7 hotline for technicians to ask technical questions.

Responsibilities
  • Adhere to all industry and PIRTEK safety standards
  • Carry out service calls and sales visits in your local area
  • Identify faulty hoses and/or hose assemblies to service the customers’ needs
  • Remove worn or broken hoses before fabricating and installing the new replacement
  • Ensure oil spills/environmental contaminants, due to hose failure and/or repair, are cleaned or contained to the customer’s satisfaction (as well as federal, state, and local regulations)
  • Input service details into the online database to create accurate invoices
  • Develop relationships with new and existing customers
  • Maintain mobile service unit, tools, and equipment
  • Ensure customer satisfaction by resolving issues on-site and conducting frequent follow-up visits
  • Participate in the rotating On-Call schedule (with increased incentive pay)
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
Work Environment

You will be operating out of a PIRTEK Service & Supply Center in a purpose-built mobile service unit – a workshop-van that is outfitted with all the tools and machinery needed to successfully service your local area.

  • Territory-based service areas
  • Service locations may differ in terrain, noise level, temperature, common amenities available, etc.
  • Oil, grease, lubricant, and other “messy” substances are frequently used
  • You may be required to travel for training initiatives, at no cost to you
Skills & Abilities Needed
  • Sit, stand, kneel, bend, and/or stoop for extended periods
  • Safely use ladders, step-ups, stairs, etc.
  • Mechanically inclined – consistent use of hand tools & specialized equipment is required
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to navigate customer objections to identify needs and execute sales
  • Self-motivated with a positive attitude through difficult jobs
  • Able to work individually and as part of a team
  • Lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to safely and lawfully drive a large work van
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Driver’s License with clean driving record
  • Experience in industrial development & construction, automobile/marine/field mechanics, or a related industry is a plus
  • Ability to pass a background check
  • Must have field services experience as a diesel technician or mechanic
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
