Job Description
Chamberlain College of Nursing is pleased to announce part time teaching opportunities for our Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program at our campus in Tyson's Corner, VA.
The Typical Course Of Instruction May Include
- Fundamentals of Microbiology with Lab (BIOS-242) — concepts of microbiology, medically important microorganisms and infectious diseases; microscopy, microbial growth and genetics, antimicrobial agents, epidemiology and immune responses; lab exercises on aseptic techniques, isolation and culture, microscopy and staining.
- Anatomy & Physiology I-IV with Lab (BIOS-251 through BIOS-256) — four-course sequence focusing on body systems, interrelationships between form and function at gross and microscopic levels.
- Topics Include — basic anatomical and directional terminology, muscle tissues, cell biology, integumentary and skeletal systems; muscular and nervous systems, special senses, endocrine system; cardiovascular, immune and respiratory systems; digestive, urinary and reproductive systems.
Courses meet once or twice a week at the campus in Tysons Corner, typically for 2-4 hours per day including weekdays and evenings, courses run in eight-week sessions. Face-to-face interaction in lab and classroom is blended with technology (online discussions and assignments). Commitment is on a course-by-course basis.
Responsibilities- Develop and provide students with an approved Adtalem Global Education syllabus following campus template, including terminal course objectives.
- Organize, prepare, and regularly revise/update all course materials.
- Use appropriate online technologies and course-related software to prepare and provide course access to students.
- Model effective oral and written communication to engage students and enhance learning.
- Set clear course expectations by publishing terminal objectives, assignment/exam dates, and weight distribution of evaluation categories.
- Ensure exam content aligns with course terminal objectives and provide timely feedback on assessments.
- Perform other duties as assigned and maintain compliance with policies and standards.
- Earned a master’s or doctorate degree in the course subject, with a minimum of 18 graduate credits in the subject.
- Genuine passion for nursing, education, and lifelong learning; strong subject matter expertise and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to provide official transcripts from a regionally accredited institution (or a NACES-evaluated credential for degrees earned outside the US).
- State licensing or accreditation requirements may apply as applicable.
In support of pay transparency laws, the expected compensation rate for this position ranges from $1,120 per assignment to $7,245 per assignment, depending on the number of courses scheduled and the candidate’s education and experience.
